Add A Location
Improve accuracy of carrier and local distance rates by adding custom shipping locations.
Contents:
If you ship from multiple locations and your eCommerce platform’s primary shipping address isn’t ideal for carrier or distance-based rates, you can add custom locations to Intuitive Shipping. These can be assigned to shipping methods, giving you more accurate shipping costs when a specific ship-from location is required.
How It Works
Custom locations can be added to your Intuitive Shipping settings. They can be added manually or imported from your eCommerce platform and there is no limit to the number of locations you can add to Intuitive Shipping.
Once added to Intuitive Shipping, locations can be assigned to any shipping method that calculates real-time carrier rates or local delivery distance. In addition to being listed on the Locations page, each custom location added to Intuitive Shipping is displayed in the 'Shipping origin' section of parcel service, freight service, integrated service and local delivery shipping methods.
Custom locations can be assigned to any applicable shipping method by choosing to 'specify origin location', then selecting the most appropriate location from the list.
If required, custom locations can be manually added to Intuitive Shipping directly from the shipping method.
Locations added directly through a shipping method are also added to the package management system and can be assigned to any new or existing shipping methods.
Inventory Is Not Visible To Intuitive Shipping
Intuitive Shipping does not have visibility of your inventory. If you’re using Shopify, this means Intuitive Shipping can’t see your secondary Shopify locations and we have no visibility of inventory levels at any of your locations.
Skip this setup guide if you are only using custom service methods - including free shipping methods - which don't require locations.

Location Settings
1. Enter a location title, like ‘Warehouse B’.
Location titles are not visible to customers.
2. Set the location status.
You have two (2) settings to choose from:
- Off - the location will be ignored and hidden by shipping methods it is assigned to and cannot be added to new shipping methods.
- On - the location is available and visible in shipping methods it is assigned to and can be added to new shipping methods. This is the default setting.
Address
1. Enter the location address and, if desired, the telephone number for the location.
A complete address is not required to save the location. However, some carriers require the entire address in order to calculate real-time rates.
